PBA postpones game between TNT and NorthPort 'as a precautionary measure'

The PBA announced in a statement on Monday that the game between TNT and NorthPort set for 6:45 p.m. has been cancelled and will be rescheduled to a later date.

"The TNT- NorthPort game was cancelled as a precautionary measure," said PBA commissioner Willie Marcial.

The game between the Phoenix Super LPG and NLEX Road Warriors, which will be Calvin Abueva's first game back after getting his suspension lifted, will push through, but the tipoff time will be moved from the original 4 p.m. schedule to 6:45 p.m.

The postponement of the TNT-NorthPort game comes in light of the quarantine imposed on the Tropang Giga after coming in contact with the Blackwater Elite. It is the second game that the league has cancelled after Sunday's Blackwater-Rain or Shine tilt was also postponed.

The commissioner also mentioned that teams will undergo another round of testing on Tuesday.

"All PBA Delegates - officials, staff and referees, TV5 delegates, Quest Hotel Staff, PBA teams all tested negative," Marcial said in a message. "TNT, Dyip, Magnolia, Meralco and Phoenix will undergo their third PCR test cycle [Tuesday] followed by the remaining teams in the coming days."

The Blackwater player, who was initially suspected positive for COVID-19, produced negative results in the succeeding tests, the league announced Monday.
