Import Adams to depart NBL JackJumpers

Tasmania JackJumpers star import Josh Adams won't be with the fledgling NBL club next season.

Adams, who was on a one-year deal, played a key role in the JackJumpers's fairytale run to the grand final series in their debut competition.

The club on Friday indicated the American 28-year-old guard would not be re-signed.

"The Tasmania JackJumpers would like to thank Josh Adams for his fantastic contribution to our club during the successful inaugural season," a statement on social media said.

"Please join us in wishing Josh every success for the next phase of his basketball journey, we will all watch on with interest.

"On a personal level we would like to wish Josh and fiance Madison all the best for their upcoming wedding."

Coach Scott Roth earlier this month said Adams, the club's MVP for season 2021/22, had fielded big-money offers from around the world.

The JackJumpers are in the market for two imports, after also indicating Canadian MiKyle McIntosh would not be re-signed.

In a boost for the club, American import Josh Magette earlier this month inked a one-year deal to return for season 2022/23.

Adams averaged 17 points per game for the JackJumpers and produced some stunning performances late in the season and during the playoffs.

He scored a game-high 30 points against Melbourne United to get the club into the best-of-five grand final series against the Sydney Kings, which they lost 3-0.

He notched 36 points in a second grand final series match that went down to the wire.
