Commentary
It's honours even at Anfield, where Liverpool and Fulham share the spoils following a generally low-key 0-0 draw. Both sides carried a decent threat going forward, but their respective final xG tallies of 1.13 and 0.71 epitomise the overall lacking of a cutting edge. Nevertheless, Liverpool remain unbeaten under Iraola, while it's enough to see Fulham break their duck and get their first point on the board under former Reds defender Arbeloa. The visitors went close to capitalising on a mix-up between Alisson and Gravenberch in the 11th minute, but the alert Jacquet was on the line to keep out Garcia's shot. At the other end, Munoz met Szoboszlai's corner on 22 minutes, but the Spain international was denied by the crossbar. Chances came at a premium thereon, though, and it wasn't until the 91st minute when either side came genuinely close to finding a winning goal. Isak peeled away from his marker at the near post to meet Szoboszlai's corner, but steered his glancing header wide of the target. Both teams switch their focus to the EFL Cup second round in midweek. Liverpool welcome Tottenham to Anfield, while Fulham make the short trip across London to face West Ham. Thanks for joining us today. Until next time, goodbye!
FULL-TIME: LIVERPOOL 0-0 FULHAM
Liverpool launch one final rally with Frimpong swinging a low ball across the area. Ngumoha attacks it at the far post, but can't steer the ball anywhere close to the goal. That should be that, with Fulham registering their first points of the campaign.
We're into the final 60 seconds at Anfield, with this contest fizzling out towards a stalemate. That is, of course, unless either side can find a winning goal. It's not looking likely at the moment, though.
OOH ISAK! The fourth official indicates there'll be four minutes of stoppage time, before Szoboszlai's free-kick deflects behind for a corner, which he goes across to take. Isak steals a yard on his man to meet the delivery at the near post. He can't connect properly, though, with the ball flashing across goal and wide.
There's a brief concern for Liverpool as Isak stays down following a challenge by Robinson, which earns the Reds a free-kick. Thankfully for their number nine, he's eventually back on his feet.
