NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- Matt Scott scored 21 points with four 3-pointers for his 14th 20-plus game of the season and Niagara beat Manhattan 72-63 on Wednesday night.
It was also Scott's fifth 20-plus output against Manhattan.
James Towns made 9 of 12 free throws and scored 13 points for Niagara (13-9, 6-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Kahlil Dukes added 12 points and the Purple Eagles were 21 of 28 from the stripe.
Towns raced from the 3-point line to the rim for a left-handed, put-back dunk of Dukes' missed 3-pointer to extend Niagara's lead to 62-54 with 5:55 to go.
Pauly Paulicap scored 18 points with eight free throws for Manhattan (10-11, 5-4). He made 4 of 6 shots in the first half and 8 of 9 free throws for 16 points. Aaron Walker Jr. added 12 points and Calvin Crawford 11.
