Stetson holds of NJIT 84-80, snaps 8-game losing streak
NEWARK, N.J. -- B.J. Glasford and Luke Doyle each scored 17 points to lead five Stetson starters in double figures and the Hatters held off NJIT 84-80 on Saturday to snap an eight-game losing streak.
Divine Myles gave Stetson a 19-point lead with 10:15 remaining in the game.
Angel Rivera spun his defender in the lane and banked in a shot to push Stetson's lead to four points with 8.7 seconds to go and Donovan Greer was off on a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Abayomi Iyiola had 12 points and 11 rebounds, Rivera scored 12 and Myles 11 points for Stetson (11-17, 3-8 Atlantic Sun).
Glasford scored 12 points in the first half as Stetson built a 47-37 lead.
Zach Cooks led NJIT (12-14, 5-6) with 21 points. Abdul Lewis had 18 points and 13 rebounds, Greer scored 12 on four 3-pointers and Shyquan Gibbs added 11 points -- all in the first half.
