Sam Houston takes down Louisiana Tech 81-77
HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- — Lamar Wilkerson had 24 points in Sam Houston's 81-77 win over Louisiana Tech on Saturday night.
Wilkerson added five assists for the Bearkats (8-8, 1-0 Conference USA). Davon Barnes was 6 of 12 shooting and 3 of 4 from the free throw line to add 15 points. Marcus Boykin was 3 of 4 shooting and 4 of 6 from the free throw line to finish with 11 points.
The Bulldogs (10-6, 0-1) were led in scoring by Tahlik Chavez, who finished with 20 points and four assists. Tyler Henry added 13 points for Louisiana Tech. Isaiah Crawford also recorded 12 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks.
Up next for Sam Houston is a matchup Wednesday with Western Kentucky at home. Louisiana Tech visits Middle Tennessee on Thursday.
