Dallas v Philadelphia
Union defeat Dallas in a shootout
The Philadelphia Union have reached the club's first-ever US Open Cup Final after beating FC Dallas in a penalty shootout on Tuesday night.
Philadelphia's Amobi Okugo opened the scoring in the first half, before Fabian Castillo equalized in the 81st minute -- leaving the game tied at 1-1 in regulation time.
30 minutes of extra-time was not enough to seperate the two teams, leaving the match to be decided in a shootout.
Sheanon Williams, Vincent Nogueira, Cristian Maidana and Maurice Edu all converted for Philadelphia, while Union keeper Zac MacMath came up with the goods in goal with two diving saves -- first lunging to his right to stop Blas Perez's shot before leaping to his left to tip away Victor Ulloa's final-round attempt.
Philadelphia won the shootout 4-3 and will go on to face the winner of Wednesday's match between MLS sides Chicago and Seattle for the US Open Cup title Sept. 16 at PPL Park.
