Ayr continued their peerless start to the Scottish League One season with a stunning 5-0 win at home to Cowdenbeath. The hosts made a sensational start inside 30 seconds. Cowdenbeath gave the ball away from a Paddy Boyle throw and Jordan Preston pounced to score.It was 2-0 to the table-toppers a few minutes later, Alan Forrest beating Jamie Sneddon all ends up.The second half started with another early goal, Gerry McLauchlan heading home a fine cross by Brian Gilmour.Alan Trouten set up Gilmour for a fourth goal and Craig Moore also got in on the act, making it five courtesy of some good approach play by Ross Caldwell.
