Yoann Gourcuff helps Rennes register first win of the season
Goals from manager's son Yoann Gourcuff and Giovanni Sio earned Rennes their first win of the Ligue 1 season at the expense of promoted Nancy.
Yoann Gourcuff, whose father Christian took control at Roazhon Park in the summer, opened the scoring from a Romain Danze pass in the 23rd minute.
Winless Nancy tried to fight back, with Anthony Koura hitting a post as goalkeeper Benoit Costil looked stranded, but nine minutes from time Rennes doubled their advantage through Sio, who steered the ball home with his right foot.
