Monaco v Lille
Monaco shake off slow start to beat Lille
Monaco recovered from surprisingly going a goal down to beat relegation-threatened Lille 2-1 and maintain their grip on second place in Ligue 1.Lebo Mothiba fired Lille in front in the 16th minute at the Stade Louis II with an instinctive left-footed finish from 10 yards following a well-judged cross from Thiago Mendes. However, the visitors were unable to hold on to their advantage until the interval as goalkeeper Mike Maignan could only spill a 43rd-minute shot from Rony Lopes straight back to the midfielder, who gratefully accepted a second chance to find the back of the net. With just over an hour on the clock Stevan Jovetic then fired the home side into the lead by calmly chipping the ball over the advancing Maignan after being played in by a superb pass from Joao Moutinho. And although Jovetic missed the chance to put the result beyond doubt when he headed wide from a Thomas Lemar cross, Lille were unable to snatch an equaliser as Ibrahim Amadou also missed the target in the last minute from Fares Bahlouli's cross.
