Akoh with career-high 23; Montana beats UC Irvine 86-68
MISSOULA, Mont. -- Jamar Akoh had a career-high 23 points to go with seven rebounds and Montana stayed perfect at home with an 86-68 win over UC Irvine on Tuesday night.
Michael Oguine added 16 points and Timmy Falls scored 14 for the Grizzlies (7-4), who improved to 5-0 on their home court.
Montana pushed the lead into double digits for good with a 16-2 run starting early in the second half and ending at 57-35 with 13 minutes to go. The Anteaters (4-10) didn't get the deficit back below 20 until an 11-3 run in the final three minutes.
The Grizzlies led by as many as 13 in the first half and went into the break with a 39-29 lead.
John Edgar Jr. tied a career high with 13 points for UC Irvine. Evan Leonard and Max Hazzard added 10 points each.
