Fairfield gets 4th win of season, beats Niagara 77-59
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Jonathan Kasibabu had 20 points and 14 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season, freshman Neftali Alvarez added 15 points and Fairfield beat Niagara 77-59 on Monday night.
The Stags held Niagara without a field goal for nearly seven minutes in the second half.
Jesus Cruz added 13 points, nine rebounds and three assists for Fairfield (4-11, 1-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). The Stags outrebounded Niagara 39-27 and forced 18 turnovers.
The Stags hit a season-high 16 3-point field goals in a loss to Iona on Saturday, but were just 6 of 22 (27.3 percent) against Niagara. Felix Lemetti had a career-high six makes from distance on Saturday and missed all five attempts Monday.
Freshman Dominik Fragala led Niagara (7-8, 0-2) with 20 points after entering averaging 0.6 points per game, with a high of five. He had nine points at the half to keep the Purple Eagles within 41-30.
