CONWAY, S.C. -- Khalil Ahmad set career highs with eight 3-pointers and 40 points, helping Cal State Fullerton beat Monmouth 87-63 on Sunday for seventh place in the Myrtle Beach Invitational.
Ahmad made a career-high 13 field goals, on just 22 attempts, and also had five rebounds and four steals.
Kyle Allman Jr. added 13 points for Cal State Fullerton (2-3), and Jackson Rowe had 10 rebounds and a career-high four blocks. The Titans made 13 of 27 3-pointers.
Cal State Fullerton led 52-22 at halftime after making 9 of 13 3-pointers and holding Monmouth to 20.7 percent shooting. Ahmad tied his career high with his sixth 3-pointer, and he had 29 points at the half.
Deion Hammond led Monmouth (0-6) with 15 points. The Hawks were 3 of 21 from distance and 24 of 29 at the free-throw line.
