NEWARK, N.J. -- Zach Cooks scored 21 points as NJIT won its home opener Saturday, beating Wagner 88-69.
Cooks now has led the Highlanders in scoring in all four of their games.
Diego Willis had 13 points for NJIT (2-2). Shyquan Gibbs, who hit the game winner with a half second left against Cornell Wednesday, added 11 points. San Antonio Brinson had 10 points for the hosts.
Curtis Cobb had 17 points for the Seahawks (1-3). Tyrone Nesby IV added 14 points. Patrick Szpir had 10 points.
Alex Morales, who was second on the Seahawks in scoring coming into the matchup with 17 points per game, shot only 20 percent in the game (1 of 5).
NJIT faces Binghamton at home on Wednesday. Wagner plays St. Peter's on the road on Wednesday.
