Banks' 28 lead UMBC over New Hampshire 86-68
DURHAM, N.H. -- — Marcus Banks had 28 points in UMBC's 86-68 victory over New Hampshire on Saturday.
Banks shot 11 for 21, including 6 for 10 from beyond the arc for the Retrievers (10-19, 5-9 America East Conference). Dion Brown scored 24 points and added 11 rebounds. Franck Emmou went 4 of 5 from the field to finish with nine points.
The Wildcats (15-11, 7-6) were led in scoring by Clarence O. Daniels II, who finished with 25 points and nine rebounds. New Hampshire also got 16 points and six rebounds from Jaxson Baker. In addition, Naim Miller had eight points.
Both teams next play Thursday. UMBC visits NJIT and New Hampshire goes on the road to play Albany (NY).
