Leach scores 27 in Fairfield's 85-81 victory against Quinnipiac
HAMDEN, Conn. -- — Jalen Leach scored 27 points as Fairfield held off Quinnipiac 85-81 on Friday night.
Leach added six rebounds and three steals for the Stags (17-10, 11-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Caleb Fields scored 19 points and added five assists. Brycen Goodine was 5 of 11 shooting (3 for 4 from 3-point range) to finish with 13 points.
The Bobcats (19-7, 11-4) were led by Matt Balanc, who posted 23 points and nine rebounds. Doug Young added 17 points for Quinnipiac. In addition, Amarri Tice finished with 12 points and two steals.
These two teams both play Sunday. Fairfield hosts Siena and Quinnipiac visits Rider.
