Everett blanks Oklahoma to help send Mississippi State to WCWS

Behind a dominant performance from pitcher Delainey Everett, Mississippi State defeated host Oklahoma 6-0 on Sunday at Love's Field in Norman to advance to the Women's College World Series.

Everett scattered just three hits and three walks over seven shutout innings while striking out three. Mississippi's State's offense provided early support and never looked back. In the top of the first inning, Kinley Keller (2-for-4) delivered a two-run single to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead. Keller added another RBI on an infield single in the third. Paige Ernstes extended the lead with a solo home run in the fourth, and Morgan Bernardini broke the game open with a two-run shot in the fifth. Morgan Stiles and Xiane Romero also contributed multihit games, each going 2-for-4.

The Oklahoma offense was held in check all afternoon, managing only three singles -- from Kai Minor, Ella Parker and Isabela Emerling -- against Everett. The team was unable to string together any rallies, leaving seven runners stranded throughout the contest. Starting pitcher Miali Guachino allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits in three innings. Audrey Lowry pitched the final three frames, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits.

Up next: Mississippi State will face Texas Tech in the Women's College World Series on Thursday at Devon Park in Oklahoma City. The game is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET.
