Queen's Park v Forfar
Danny Denholm does damage in Hampden draw
A brilliant overhead kick from Danny Denholm earned Forfar a 1-1 draw at Queen's Park in the William Hill Scottish Cup third-round tie at Hampden. The visitors went close to opening the scoring in the 22nd minute when Martyn Fotheringham's free-kick crashed against the bar.Queen's Park made the breakthrough on the half-hour mark, Chris Duggan giving Rab Douglas no chance when he lashed a right-footed 25-yard shot into the top-right corner. But Dick Campbell's team were back on level terms on the hour courtesy of Denholm's superb overhead kick, which left home goalkeeper Willie Muir helpless. The hosts appealed for a penalty 10 minutes from time, but referee John McKendrick was unmoved when David Galt went down in the box.And Douglas pulled off a brilliant late save to deny Duggan from close range and ensure the tie required a replay.
