Red Flash tops Terriers, 91-87 in St. Francis showdown
LORETTO, Pa. -- Keith Braxton, the Northeast Conference Player of the Week for the second straight week, scored 27 points and Jamaal King matched his output as St. Francis of Pennsylvania beat St. Francis of Brooklyn, 91-87 on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Flash staked the Terriers to a 39-31 lead the break, but Braxton keyed a 12-2 run with seven points of his own to get within a point, 44-43, and his layup with 13:35 left gave them the lead, 50-49.
Braxton hit 9 of 19 shots from the field, including 3 of 5 from distance, while grabbing 13 rebounds for the Red Flash (9-6, 3-1). King was 8 of 12 from the field, including 3 of 6 from beyond the arc.
The Terriers (5-11, 2-2) got 22 points from Jalen Jordan, 15 points from Glenn Sanabria, 13 from Rasheem Dunn, and 10 each from D.J. Porter, Milija Cosic and Josh Nicholas.
