Myles sparks 2nd half surge, Stetson downs NJIT 80-67
DELAND, Fla. -- Divine Myles scored 20 points leading four into double figures and Stetson shot 59 percent after halftime, breaking through for their first conference win with an 80-67 defeat of NJIT on Thursday night.
The Hatters (9-9, 1-1 Atlantic Sun) trailed by seven at the break, but Myles opened the second half with two quick baskets that sparked a 15-7 run that saw Stetson take a 49-48 lead with just under 14 minutes to play.
Christiaan Jones broke a 49-49 tie with a 3-pointer and Stetson led from there. The Hatters shot 59 percent (16 of 27) and made 6 of 10 3-pointers after halftime.
Leo Goodman scored 15 points for Stetson on 6-of-6 shooting, including 3 of 3 from distance. B.J. Glasford also scored 15 and Angel Rivera had 10 with five assists.
Anthony Tarke led the Highlanders (8-9, 1-1) with 23 points and four 3-pointers.
