Porter's 41 lead Middle Tennessee over UTEP 96-90 in OT
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- — Jestin Porter scored 41 points as Middle Tennessee beat UTEP 96-90 in double overtime on Saturday night.
Porter also had seven rebounds for the Blue Raiders (11-15, 5-6 Conference USA). Jared Jones scored 15 points while shooting 3 of 10 from the field and 8 for 9 from the line, and added 13 rebounds, eight assists, and three blocks. Justin Bufford had 12 points and shot 3 for 9 (3 for 7 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free throw line.
The Miners (13-13, 4-7) were led by Tae Hardy, who recorded 24 points. Jonathan dos Anjos added 14 points for UTEP. Zid Powell also had 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Middle Tennessee's next game is Wednesday against Jacksonville State on the road, and UTEP hosts Louisiana Tech on Thursday.
