Margielyn Didal, Daniel Ledermann bag golds in skateboarding

Margielyn Didal and Daniel Ledermann earned two gold medals for the Philippines in the Southeast Asian Games after ruling the Game of S.K.A.T.E. event Thursday at the Sigtuna Hall in Tagaytay.

Didal, an Asian Games gold medalist, bested fellow Filipina Christiana Means in the skateboarding event where the athletes try to outperform each other through tricks. Each skater has to replicate his or her opponent's trick and a failed attempt merits a letter, similar to the game of H.O.R.S.E in basketball.

Both Didal and Means dispatched Indonesia on Wednesday to enter the gold medal round. Didal topped Nyimas Cinta while Means bested Kyandra Susana.

Ledermann, meanwhile, topped 12-year-old Indonesian sensation Basral Hutomo to bag the gold in the men's division. Lederman advanced to the finals after taking down Vietnam's Tien Son Nguyen in the semis.

Didal will participate in street, the same event that won her the gold in the 2018 Asian Games in Palembang. Means, on the other hand, will compete in both the street and park events.
