10.2 edged to second slip!! Prasidh has the first wicket for Karnataka today. He bowls on a short of a length around seventh stump, as the ball straightened after being angled in. Iqbal went pushing at it without any foot movement, and got an outside edge. Simple catch for Rahul, who didn't have to move to take it 18/1
50.6 and there's the wicket! short of a good length delivery outside the off stump. Yawar has a prod at it and gets an outside edge to first slip where Rahul takes the catch. Does he? They have referred it to the third umpire. It does look like his fingers were under the ball as he took the catch. These sort of catches are tough to judge for the umpires. On multiple replays from different angles, it has been ascertained that the ball bounced into the palms and not onto the ground. Finally Karnataka have a wicket. Will they press on from here ? 157/2
97.2 got him this time! Pundir got away with a mistimed flick earlier when it didn't carry to Karun Nair. Doesn't have the same luck this time. He's overbalanced in trying to flick this uppishly, ends up chipping it tamely to KV Aneesh, the substitute fielder, at short square leg. Fine, fine knock. 303/3
142.4 the captain's vigil is over and it's Shreyas Gopal's googly that has done the trick. Feeble push from Dogra, but this time the ball actually spins back in and bounces onto the stumps before he could react. Gopal waves a friendly goodbye, end of a defiant knot. 471/6
98.1 one brings two and Karnataka are back! This is an absolute peach from Prasidh. Full on off, the ball pitches and nibbles away just a wee bit to kiss Samad's outside edge as Kruthik Krishna gleefully gobbles up a dolly. 307/4
130.1 edged and taken, eventually! Rahul had plenty of bites at this cherry but he does just enough in the end. On a back of a length outside off. Wadhawan tries to dab it fine but dabs it too fine. Rahul into play at slip and he snaps down low to his right, and several bobbles later, he emerges with his palms clasped around the ball. There is a third-umpire check to see if the catch is fair but nothing doing on that count. Shetty has his first and Wadhawan, after a slightly iffy spell, has to depart! 417/5
172.2 shanked straight up, and Vyshak finally has a wicket! Bashed into the track outside off, asking Sahil to fetch this pull. He tries but comes up second-best. Quite comfortably too. The ball is near the back shoulder when he makes contact and it spirals off the top edge. Patil runs in from fine leg and does the rest. Top knock, though, and one that has pushed J&K closer to 600! 573/9
160.2 beaten for pace, perishes to the bouncer! Abid looks to take on the short ball but had to fetch it from way outside off, ends up getting a top edge that lands in mid-on's hand. Simplest of catches for Padikkal. Fourth wicket for Prasidh. 539/7
162.6 what a bizarre way to go! Nabi was expecting a short ball by the looks of it, and tries to duck. But Prasidh bowls this full, and because Nabi has dangled his bat out, the ball ends up kidding the edge and carrying through to the keeper, Kruthik, who has had a tough time behind the stumps, but does well to pouch this. Five wickets for Prasidh 543/8
173.1 a chaotic run-out to end the innings, and this is a bit of an anti-climax! Pushed in full on leg stump. Sunil stabs it to mid on. Yudhvir, in what seems like a pre-decided call, hares down the track, despite the ball being hit straight to Padikkal. Sunil sends him back but Padikkal, because of the confusion, has all the time in the world to take aim and throw down the stumps at the bowler's end. Some innings this by J&K, and they have put up a mountain of runs in their maiden Ranji Trophy final! 584/10

11.2 that is an absolute peach that squares Rahul up. The keeper is convinced there's a nick as the ball whizzes past, but umpire Rohan Pandit is unmoved. Paras Dogra signals for a review. Completely opened him up with that late movement with Rahul's right shoulder visible as ball passed bat. And replays confirm that is an outstanding review, there's a big spike as ball kisses the edge. Massive moment at the stroke of lunch. Auqib Nabi, what a champion. 56th wicket of the season. 27/1
90.1 Huge appeal for lbw... not given. Height the question? Oof, this is an important call but J&K only have one review left. Will they take it? Yes, they do. Good length ball on off stump, he shuffles across, up on his toes, but misses. He is also down the track a touch as well. Is rapped on the knee roll. Is that going over? No bat, on we go. Impact in line, and ball tracker confirms that to be smashing the top of middle stump . Oh, wow, what a review. A massive, massive wicket and who else but Nabi to strike 278/8
16.1 edged and taken! Sunil breaks through, and the Karnataka skipper has to go! This is superb bowling. Back of a length in the channel. Padikkal's feet go nowhere and he pokes at it in hope. The ball moves away just a smidgen to kiss the outside edge and Samad gobbles up a smart chance low to his right at wide slip. Big moment in the game! 56/2
17.5 cleans him up with a corker, and Nabi leaps in delight! This is some seed. On a length and angling into middle and off. On pitching, though, it decks away and Karun has no clue about it. He plays down the original line and feels the ball whistle past his outside edge, before knocking back off stump. J&K on top; Karnataka in trouble! 57/3
17.6 nicked and gone first ball! Oh, they cannot play him! Back of a length in the channel and this straightens against the angle. Smaran goes feeling for it very tentatively and hangs his bat out without any conviction. The ball grazes the outside edge and the keeper accepts the offering gleefully. There is a check ongoing for a front-foot No ball, and so we wait. A bit of drama, and it has been confirmed. It is a fair delivery, and Karnataka are four down in 18 overs! 57/4
48.2 thumped on the pad, and the finger goes up! This looks very adjacent, but Gopal still wants to go upstairs! On a length just outside off and this jags back in. Gopal does not get a good stride in and has to also play around his front pad, due to the movement. Misses it completely and gets smashed on the knee rol of the front pad. Was this doing too much? Nope. Not even remotely. Ball Tracking has the ball crashing into the inside of leg stump. Excellent decision by umpire Ulhas Gandhe, and Gopal has to depart after a long vigil! 162/5
77.1 huge, huge lbw shout and given by umpire Rohan Pandit! Kruthik reviews, though and there may have been bat involved! Fired in on a full length just outside off. Comes in with the angle and Kruthik plays outside the line slightly, perhaps expecting the turn. Gets smashed on the front pad and if there is no bat involved, this could be it for the wicket-keeper batter. There is a spike on UltraEdge when the ball is next to the inside edge. But that is complicated by the ball also being near the pad. And by the bat hitting the pad on the way through. Seems like the ball has grazed the inside edge before hitting the pad but either way, this is touch-and-go. For what it is worth, it does seem like there is a tiny deflection too, along with a shadow of the ball on the pad before it strikes it. Third umpire Virender Sharma looking at multiple angles, and the game has come to a standstill. Potentially big moment In the game. And the third umpire says he does not have conclusive evidence to suggest the involvement of bat. Wow. Ball Tracking up now, and it reckons the ball would have thundered into the top of leg stump. Kruthik cannot believe it. Did seem like there was bat involved but J&K could not care less. The third umpire has made his decision, and Kruthik has to go! 241/6
83.3 change in angle, and immediate change in fortunes! Back of a length in that probing corridor just outside off. Largely comes in with the angle but perhaps does not nip in as much as Patil thinks it will. Has a nibble at it and all he manages is a feather through to the keeper. J&K keep chipping away, and Karnataka are seven down now! 256/7

92.2 Huge shout for lbw as Shetty misses an outswinger and is struck on the pad. Not given. Looks very, very close. Le lo says Nabi. And Dogra takes the review. Oh, why wasn't this given on the field? Height, probably? No, that is smashing the top of off stump. Nabi has another five-for as Karnataka lose nine. What a stunning delivery. Lands the ball just around off and tails it away late, squaring Shetty up who misses and is rapped on the back pad. That is stone dead 288/9
93.3 Straight down mid-on's throat. Yudhvir takes the final wicket and J&K have taken a massive 291-run first-innings lead. WOWZA! Length ball on off stump, Prasidh takes a swing at it but can only manage a toe-end only as far as mid-on. 293/10

1.1 Gets a wicket off the first ball! Goes fuller nibbling back into Hassan. He tentatively pokes at it, gets a thick inside-edge and the ball crashes into the stumps. Just the kind of start Karnataka would have asked from their leading pacer 6/1
2.6 Another wicket! Pundir has fallen on the last ball before lunch. Is this on? A nothing delivery really but sometimes those are the deliveries that get you the wickets. Length ball down leg, he works this fine but Srijith moves to his right and takes a lovely catch. Vyshak are two down for 11, leading Karnataka by 302 runs. 11/2
20.1 Cleans him up with a peach! Near unplayable that. Angles the length ball on off and gets the ball to hold its line after pitching. Dogra plays down the wrong line and the ball hits the top of off. Play that, says Prasidh. 72/3
43.5 Straight up and this negative line, finally gets Shreyas a wicket. Gently floated on leg stumps, he looks to swipe that across the line and only manages a big leading edge that goes straight up. Vyshak settles himself around the mid-off region and takes a comfortable catch 145/4
