Viral Vault: Pedro Martinez gets taped to dugout pole

On the mound, Pedro Martinez was a force of nature with the Boston Red Sox, but he was also a bit of a jokester.

On this June night in 1999, it was an off day for Martinez, who found himself a little tied up in the dugout thanks to Nomar Garciaparra and Mark Portugal.

This was just one of the many great moments in Martinez's career, which spanned 18 years with five different teams.

That '99 season was one of his best, finishing with a 2.07 ERA, a career-high 313 strikeouts and the American League Cy Young Award.
