The funeral of former Minardi and Jaguar driver Justin Wilson has taken place in a small village in Northamptonshire.
British driver Wilson died on August 24, the day after being struck in the head by a flying piece of debris during an IndyCar race at Pocono Raceway, Pennsylvania. He was 37 years old.
Former team-mate and Formula 3000 rival Mark Webber, who drove alongside Wilson at Jaguar in 2003, was one of the pallbearers at the funeral, along with four-time IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti. Former F1 driver Jonathan Palmer, who took Wilson on as a protégé during his junior career, delivered a 12-minute eulogy, while Wilson's wife Julia read a poem entitled "Today, I washed you away".
The service took place at St James the Great Church in Paulerspury, near the Silverstone circuit, and was attended by over 500 people.
