Debayan Sen believes that the Indian Women had a better game than the 3-0 scoreline suggests after Great Britain Women beat them in their second game at Rio 2016 (2:27)

The Indian women's hockey team went down 3-0 against seventh-ranked Great Britain in their second pool B match at the Rio Olympics.

Giselle Ansley (25th minute), Nicola White (26th) and Alexandra Danson (32nd) scored for Great Britain, as they eased to victory.

India, who are ranked 13th, defended for much of the game and only won their first penalty corner in the final quarter. India were reduced to 10 players with five minutes to go as Deepika Thakur was yellow carded, but they ensured that there was no further damage by putting up a solid defence.

Despite launching some promising attacks in the final few minutes - including a one-on-one in their last play - India were unable to score a consolation goal.

"To play in the Olympics after 36 years was big and there was a lot of pressure on us. We will have to learn from the mistakes and come back stronger. We still have hopes to make the quarters," the captain Sushila Chanu said.

India had drawn 2-2 against Japan in their first match and will next face Australia on Wednesday.
