The Philippine fencing team contributed two medals -- one silver and one bronze -- for the Philippines in the ongoing 30th Southeast Asian Games on Wednesday.
Hanniel Abella had stellar performances throughout the eliminations up until the semifinals to reach the gold-medal match of the women's Individual Epee event. However, she lost to Singapore's Kiria Abdul Rahman, 15-12, in the final to settle for silver.
Meanwhile, Nathaniel Perez bagged the bronze medal after reaching the semifinals of the men's Individual Foil event, where he lost to Malaysia's Hans Yoong, 15-11.
