SUBIC - The Philippines has the 30th Southeast Asian Games overall championship in the bag, but it's not done reaping medals yet.
The shooting team added a gold in the country's medal haul after it topped the men's trap event on Tuesday at the Ilanin Forest here.
World champion Eric Ang, Carlos Carag, and Alexander Topacio of team Philippines scored 338 points to emerge victorious in the event graced by Narvacan, Ilocos Sur Mayor Chavit Singson and TV personality Edu Manzano.
Malaysia's trio of Cheng Yech, Chee Ong, and Seong Chen nabbed the silver medal after tallying 330 points.
Thailand posted 321 points for the bronze.
In the individual men's trap, Thailand's Savate Sresthaporn amassed 44 points to seize the gold medal.
Carag was not too far behind with 41 points for a silver medal. Malaysian shooter Ong settled for bronze with 34 points.
Ang wound up fourth. He atoned for the lackluster performance by winning the silver in the men's trap shotgun. Carag claimed the bronze.
Over at the Subic Gym, the Philippine sepak takraw squad settled for bronze in the men's regu after dropping a 9-21, 11-21 game against defending champion Malaysia.
It was a rematch of the finals in the 2017 edition of the games, with Malaysia again getting the better of the Filipinos.
With the victory, Malaysia claimed the silver mint while Thailand reclaimed the gold after deciding not to field a squad two years ago.
At the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center, Richard Gonzales claimed the bronze in men's singles table tennis.
Gonzales bowed to Clarence Chew of Singapore in the semifinals.
Competing since 1999, the 48-year-old Gonzales was the lone player in the table tennis national team to take home a medal.
