Neil Etheridge moves to Birmingham City on four-year deal

Filipino shot stopper Neil Etheridge has moved on from Cardiff City FC and completed his transfer to EFL Championship club Birmingham City FC on a four-year contract on Friday.

The club confirmed the move on their social media account late Friday afternoon Manila time.

The 30-year old Philippine Azkal played 102 times for Cardiff and featured heavily in the club's Premier League season during the 2018-19 campaign. Etheridge won Cardiff's Player of the Year Award for his efforts in 2019.

The Azkals goalkeeper failed to make the same impact after Cardiff's return to the Championship and only featured 17 times last season.

Etheridge moved on to a Birmingham team fresh from a 20th place finish in the Championship last season.

The English club looked to Etheridge to reinforce their goalkeeper position after parting ways with former first-choice keeper Lee Camp last August. Birmingham City also signed Spanish keeper Andres Prieto last August to address their keeper concerns.
