11.45pm We're all wrapped up here. Great chase from DC that lays the base for a late-season resurgence for them. RR, on the other hand, might have some introspection to do. From Vairavan, Ranjith, Ekanth, and I - goodbye and good night! Catch you tomorrow as we head into another blockbuster line-up of weekend games.

Now the post-match presentation.

And finally, Player of the Match, KL Rahul. He puts on the orange Cap too. "We play the sport to win. After playing for so many years, wins do matter. You score runs and break records, but you don't get the points... The dressing room's always been a decent place. We try to keep that dressing room as balanced as possible. Results haven't gone our way. We have to dig deep and see if we've made some mistakes, big blunders. Hasn't been the case. We haven't been able to cash in on the big moments... Important that we take our chances when we are ahead in the game. [Batting with Nissanka] Remind each other to play proper cricket shots. Strike rate was a big talking point for a few years. Happy I've worked on that, and doing that modern T20 cricket requires."

Axar Patel picks up the mic for a chat, all smiles. "You know, you have to come every day and do your best. Very happy the way boys played. The way they batted, bowled - both departments - I'm very happy. We executed our plans, and got the results we wanted. If the team in front of you can change the game in the powerplay, when we got all those wickets I was very happy. The way Starc bowled, I want to say that's why he's a legend - after three months, he's playing and putting in a performance like this. [On last-ball catch] Everything is fine now, physios iced my hands. I also want to say: the tragedy that happened with our fans after the last match, I want to dedicate this win to them."

Mitchell Starc now: "Nice to get the cobwebs out. Good to get some running in the legs, get some training in. Nice return... I mean I've been bowling for a period of weeks. Haven't bowled at a batter until three nights ago. In terms of ticking the boxes with the skills, I was in a position to do most of what I want to do."

The RR captain, Riyan Parag: "Thought it was a good score. 200 around par. Could have bowled way better in the middle overs. [On holding back finishers] It was lefty-righty as well. I don't know, actually. Eight-nine overs to go, we wanted to delay it. Eight-nine an over off the spinners. Nothing much to think about that. [On his injury] Hopefully not too serious, on the hamstring. Week's break, will clear it out. [On knock] I don't need to answer any critics. At the end of the day, we lost the game..." Teared up a little, in the end there

11.25pm DC move to sixth on the points table, after three back-to-back losses. KL Rahul and Nissanka were architects of this chase from the top of the order. Their fifties pumped them up in the powerplay. Ashutosh and Stubbs did enough to ensure they never felt too big a pinch in the back-end of the chase. Their campaign stays alive and RR will have some thinking to do about their strategy: about Jurel's pace of batting, Jadeja's entry-point today, and their lack of an incisive spinner right now. But all that for later. First, we hear from the players. By the way: 11th successful chase of 200-plus in this season of the tournament.

Brijesh Sharma to Sharma, 1 no ball, Full toss, and it's a no ball! The batters run and the game is all over anyway. Was a waist-high full toss and he mistimes this flick towards fine leg. DC seal a clinical chase of 226. The match might have gone into the final over but DC were dominant in the second half of this innings

Brijesh Sharma to Sharma, FOUR, And now the match is getting off in a hurry. Well outside off, right in the slot. Ashutosh simply bashes this in the air and down to the deep extra cover boundary

Vismay: "200 are being chased like a walk in the park"

END OF OVER:
19 | 9 Runs | DC: 221/3 (5 runs required from 6 balls, RR: 11.63, RRR: 5.00)

Archer to Stubbs, FOUR, Jofra is furious right now! Bishnoi just wasn't in the right place here, too deep into the field. The ball was on a length and sat up on the stumps for him to flick it towards deep mid-wicket. The ball took one bounce and over the ropes. Bishnoi was running in from cow corner, and might have made it if he wasn't so far away from the ropes

1
Archer to Sharma, 1 run, Ashutosh isn't middling these. Maybe he doesn't need to. On a length and he goes for a pull across the line which takes the edge and flies down to long-on instead
18.4
1
Archer to Stubbs, 1 run, Goes for another yorker, mostly nails it. But on leg stump. Bunt down to mid-wicket is good enough for them right now
18.3
0
Archer to Stubbs, no run, Perfect yorker. Right on the stumps, more importantly a dot ball. Stubbs does well to not have it rifle into his pads
18.2
2
Archer to Stubbs, 2 runs, Full and near the leg-stump line, flicked down to deep mid-wicket
18.1
1
Archer to Sharma, 1 run, Misses the yorker, but Ashutosh misses the flick too. Was on his pads, but he could only swipe it to in front of long leg

14 off 12. Can DC finish it off in this over, or will Archer have a final ace up his sleeve?

END OF OVER:
18 | 16 Runs | DC: 212/3 (14 runs required from 12 balls, RR: 11.77, RRR: 7.00)

  • Ashutosh Sharma19 (11b)
  • Tristan Stubbs11 (7b)
  • Tushar Deshpande4-0-38-1
  • Brijesh Sharma3-0-30-0

1
Deshpande to Sharma, 1 run, Low full toss, searching for another yorker. Flicked down to cow corner
17.5
1
Deshpande to Stubbs, 1 run, He's had enough of the wide ones, so this yorker is speared in right at the stumps. Driven down to long-on
17.5
1w
Deshpande to Stubbs, 1 wide, He's missing his lines here. It's always an extremely hard line to keep too, but it's wide once more, and the match is slipping from their grasp...
17.5
1w
Deshpande to Stubbs, 1 wide, Goes for another yorker on the wide marker, except it travels past the marker...
17.4
6
Deshpande to Stubbs, SIX, Stubbs has plugged this full toss right over the long-on boundary! Missed his length completely, Stubbs stays deep in his crease and swings through the line
17.3
1
Deshpande to Sharma, 1 run, Wide yorker right on the tramline. This time Ashutosh stays on both feet, but does shuffle into the leg side to open his bat and glide it down to deep backward point now

DC's match to lose from here, in all honesty...

17.2
0
Deshpande to Sharma, no run, Now he tries to be too cheeky. The ball was going to be well outside off once more. He gets down on one knee, a tad bit too early, and gets right in the line of the ball. Tries to correct the glide into a scoop but he can't get under the ball. Nasty edge off his bat and into his helmet... We'll get a concussion check.

Deshpande to Sharma, FOUR, Whaddashot... There's nothing wrong with that yorker, right inside the wide marker. But he just reaches out with those long levers of his, opens up the face of his bat, and glides this down to the empty deep backward point boundary. All in that timing!

1w
Deshpande to Sharma, 1 wide, Ashutosh runs down the pitch, but the ball is sprayed well outside the wide crease

Deshpande bowling out now.

END OF OVER:

  • Ashutosh Sharma13 (7b)
  • Tristan Stubbs4 (5b)
  • Brijesh Sharma3-0-30-0

1
Brijesh Sharma to Sharma, 1 run, Way outside off and past the wide marker. Ashutosh reaches out for this drive, and thumps it down past the covers

Venkat : "This is going to be a neck and neck match. Forecast is 71.58 for DC. But still it is anybody's game."

V. Kalyani : "Jofra's last over may be decisive."

16.5
4
Brijesh Sharma to Sharma, FOUR, Low full toss! On the stumps, Ashutosh reads the line early - it's been predictably blockhole-heavy - and just sweeps this past deep fine leg. Audacious yet smart
16.4
2
Brijesh Sharma to Sharma, 2 runs, On a length attacking the stumps. Ashutosh plays a very late glide as he opens up the face of his bat near his eyeline and plays it past backward point
16.4
1w
Brijesh Sharma to Sharma, 1 wide, Yorker but down leg, umpire splays his arms wide

RR's accurate bowling has really sprung life back into this bowling defense.

16.3
1
Brijesh Sharma to Stubbs, 1 run, Another yorker-ish delivery on the stumps. Driven down to long-on without much of a hiccup
16.3
1w
Brijesh Sharma to Stubbs, 1 wide, Sliding down leg side. Was a full toss but Stubbs missed out on that full-blodded flick
