11.30pm SRH leave Eden Gardens the victors, having put in a dominant all-round display. They were very good with the bat, posting the highest total of the season so far, and then despite some sloppy fielding, they bowled well to register a 65-run win. KKR are winless after two games, and as their skipper said, they need to go back to the drawing board. More IPL action tomorrow of course. For now, it's goodnight from us. On behalf of Himanshu, Thilak and Sudeep, it's Abhimanyu signing off.
11.20pm Time for the presentation ceremony.
The POTM is Nitish Kumar Reddy: "It's the match-winning performance I was waiting for a long time. Thankfully it came at the right time, and even my bowling, it's given me confidence. Just trying to be positive. There have been too many negative thoughts in my mind because the last season didn't go my way and I couldn't bowl last season. I've worked really hard on my bowling and it's paying off, and that really makes you feel happy and I am happy now. Thanks to the trainers and physios, my body is fully fit now."
Ishan Kishan: "Not happy with the way I played but really happy the team was committed. Everyone was putting in the energy they put that I asked for. I don't think the pitch was that good to be honest. Head and Abhishek played a beautiful knock out there. The powerplay made the game easy for us because every batter got time to take singles and get a feel of the pitch. Great effort from them and Klaassy at the end. Team effort. We all know Finn is dangerous but Harsh just bowled that ball and we were lucky to get that wicket. [On Harsh Dubey and Shivang Kumar] Harsh has been doing well for his domestic team and keeping his nerves down and keeping calm in tough situations. I would like to talk about Shivang. Coming here, small ground. But his hard work paid off. He was in touch with all the coaches and trying to understand what works. You saw him bowl with big heart against someone like Rinku. [Areas of improvement] I think we are getting to know about the areas with each game. Fielding is an area. We can't give 20 runs in extras. We'll work on it as a team."
Ajinkya Rahane: "Yeah I thought we needed a couple of big partnerships. Guys who were set needed to take it deep. With the ball I thought we came back really well. In batting, when you are chasing a target, you need that partnership but we didn't get that. [Grass on the pitch] Second innings, I felt the ball was slightly stopping. Slower balls were gripping a lot more than first innings. We thought the wicket would get better but it got slower. But not making excuses. SRH did good use of the slower balls and the angles they used were really good. Winning home games is really important so we have to go back to the drawing room and think about our combination, if we need an extra batter. But we don't need to think too much. Just one bad day."
Jaydev Unadkat: "Pretty early in the season but happy to get [Purple Cap] whenever I can. [On experience] I feel it counts. It's about not worrying about what people on the outside talk. Whatever works works. We bowled into the pitch, got some good wickets. Got that lucky breakthrough with the run-outs. But today was a good bowling performance. While the batting innings was going on, the feedback from batters was that the wicket was double-paced with slower ball working well. I always try to keep two options open at the top of the mark and see what the batter is trying to do. [On mixing it up] That's all bowlers can do isn't it? Changing angles and keeping the batsmen guessing."
Regan: "Finally, the trend of winning the toss, chasing and winning the game ends.."
11.10pm A very good bowling effort and a bit of implosion from KKR's batters have helped SRH bag their first win of the season, after Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma put on the first real Travishek show for the season. Ishan Kishan had a cameo and Klaasen also hit a fifty. Finn Allen smashed 28 off seven, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi hit his second fifty on the trot, but two run-outs at crucial stages meant they could never keep the momentum up. And then NKR, Eshan Malinga and Jaydev Unadkat used slower balls to great effect to win the game for SRH.

"At the moment [Varun] doesn't inspire a lot of confidence," Sanjay Bangar says
"We needed a couple of big partnerships, guys who were set, they needed to take it deep," Ajinkya Rahane says of KKR's batting effort against SRH
On a surface expected to favour batting, SRH read what was in front of them, adjusted as they went, and stayed one step ahead of KKR
