Cameron Menzies won a second ProTour title of the year for the first time in his career after beating Gian van Veen 8-4 in the Players Championship 29 final in the Netherlands.
Van Veen was the third Dutchman the Scottish number two beat on the way to victory but saved his best until last by seeing off the hosts' top-ranked player, racing into a 5-0 lead against the European champion.
After a mini-comeback from Van Veen, Menzies took three of the next four legs.
"I think this is my fifth year on the tour and I've won four ProTours. That's not bad, I suppose," he said.
"My aim is to make a good life for myself. That's the aim that I think is achievable, but winning a major and having a good run at the World Championship would be amazing."

Menzies, who considered quitting darts having damaged his hand after punching a drinks table following his World Championship first-round exit, added: "I've put more effort in this year than I ever have because I nearly lost it all and I'm grateful to be in this position."
