As a part of ESPN's #oneteam initiative, ESPN is collaborating with MOJO, a start-up founded by former Disney Media Networks Co-Chair and Disney ABC Television Group President Ben Sherwood. MOJO's mission is to empower 50 million young athletes in the U.S. and 500 million around the world with content, technology and tools to help them reach their potential. To accomplish this goal, MOJO is working with the world's best athletes, coaches, content creators and technologists. During the COVID-19 pandemic, MOJO will be working with ESPN, athletes and coaches to create unique drills that young people can do in their homes in order to stay active and healthy.
To date, ESPN's Julie Foudy has participated in the challenge, where she and her kids created a challenge that combined soccer and surfing skills. Foudy then challenged U.S. Women's Soccer legend Mia Hamm and two-time WNBA All Star Breanna Stewart to create their own fun, at-home exercises to share. A day later, Hamm accepted the challenge. Stewart, who did not have a soccer ball, was unable to participate in the fun.
Two-time World Cup champion Becky Sauerbrunn also created a drill for MOJO to inspire young soccer players to work on their ball touches while away from youth sports.
