Hannover have appointed their interim coach Michael Frontzeck on a permanent contract after he successfully guided the club to safety this season.
Frontzeck replaced Tayfun Korkut with just five games of the season remaining, and after registering the Reds' first win of 2015 on the penultimate weekend of the season, a subsequent 2-1 victory over Freiburg on the final day of the season saw the Lower Saxony side stay up.
As a result, Frontzeck has been rewarded with a two-year contract.
"Michael Frontzeck did a successful job and that is why we would like to continue working with him," said Hannover's president Martin Kind.
"He set the side up and motivated them excellently and has enthusiasm and ambition about him."
Meanwhile, Hannover have also brought an end to speculation about the future of their director of sport Dirk Dufner by confirming that he will fulfill his contract, which expires in a year's time.
"The decisions regarding the team set-up for next season are now our utmost priority," added Kind.
