Second Hull player flips car outside training ground - reports

A second Hull player has been reported to have flipped his car in an accident close to the club's training ground in Cottingham.

A photograph of a Mercedes car, which had rolled onto its side on Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham, has been posted on social media.

In a similar incident three weeks ago, Hull midfielder Sorba Thomas escaped uninjured after rolling his car onto its roof on the same narrow residential street.

It has been reported that French summer signing Lucas Gourna-Douath was the driver in Thursday's accident.

Humberside Police said: "Officers and emergency services were called to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision on Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham at around 8.30am this morning (Thursday, 1 October 2026).

"Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of the collision."

A brief Hull statement read: "Hull City is aware of images circulating on social media following a road traffic accident near the club's training ground and can confirm that no one was harmed in the incident."

Thomas' Land Rover was pictured upside down on Millhouse Woods Lane after an incident on Sept. 11.

In response, local councillor Phil Redshaw said on Facebook that he had contacted the club earlier that week, urging them to remind players to drive with more care when approaching the training ground.

He said: "I only wrote to the club on Sunday, asking them to remind staff to drive with more care and attention when heading for the training ground!"
