Vikings' purple uniform gets a touch of bright gold trim

The Minnesota Vikings paid homage to their traditional purple jerseys and added some brilliant gold trim to the jersey. Yes, the Purple People Eaters are getting some gold numbers and lettering in the Vikings' Color Rush jerseys, which will be worn Dec. 1 at home against the Dallas Cowboys.

All 32 NFL teams have Color Rush uniforms, though not all teams will wear them this season. The Vikings' bright purple and gold jersey will be worn for the team's second Thursday game of the year.

The uniforms, made by Nike, are to be worn in most Thursday night games this season, except for Thanksgiving. Some teams will wear regular road white jerseys rather than having indistinguishable colors between them and their opponent.
