A penalty try deep into the red handed the Cheetahs a dramatic victory over Cardiff Blues.

The Cheetahs forwards smelt blood at the scrum and their dominance showed eight minutes into added time.

Cardiff mounted a comeback through second-half tries from Owen Lane, captain Willis Halaholo and Rey Lee-Lo.

However the Cheetahs turned the game round at the death as Cardiff were down to 14.

The Cheetahs had earlier built a commanding lead thanks to two tries from Sibhale Maxwane added to an effort from Francois Venter.

The win meant the Cheetahs stayed above Cardiff in third in Conference A.
