For the second year in a row, Craig Joubert of South Africa will referee the Super Rugby final, and it will be his third time in all after he first stood in 2010.

Australian officials Steve Walsh and James Leckie were named Assistant Referees for the match.

Neither of the semi-final referees - Jaco Peyper and Glen Jackson - were included in the list of officials for the game. Joubert was praised for his work during the recent Brumbies-Cheifs clash where he made an early statement against cynical play by yellow-carding Chiefs outside centre Tim Nanai-Williams in the second minute.

Andre Watson holds the record for the most finals - five between 1999 and 2004 - with the last three being back-to-back. After Watson there are three referees on three finals each - Paddy O'Brien, Jonathan Kaplan and now Joubert.
