World Cup over for Jones

Wales prop Duncan Jones will fly home from the World Cup this week after it was confirmed he fractured his right leg during yesterday's victory over Italy in Canberra.

Jones was stretchered from the field after only 25 minutes of Wales' 27-15 victory and went to hospital for X-rays last night with team management fearing the worst.

Wales have called for Jones' Neath-Swansea Ospreys team-mate Paul James to fly out and join the squad for next weekend's game against New Zealand and the quarter-final in a fortnight's time.

Jones will leave for home later this week, once the swelling has settled down.

James, who played against Romania in a World Cup warm-up game at Wrexham but did not make the original squad, will head straight for Sydney where Wales take on the All Blacks.
