Will Greenwood makes his first appearance for NEC Harlequins since
winning the Rugby World Cup with England.
Will returns to the number thirteen shirt in place of Chris Bell who
starts on the bench for the game against Sale Sharks in the Zurich
Premiership this Friday evening. Other changes see George Harder return to
the wing partnering Simon Keogh, while Scott Bemand starts at Scrum half
with Ben Willis involved at Twickenham for the New Zealand Barbarians.
In the forwards Roy Winters comes into the back row for Pat Sanderson
who is also involved in the Twickenham game and Ceri Jones continues at
loose head prop for the injured Mike Worsley with Jason Leonard on the
bench. Ugo Monye misses out having picked up an injury while
representing England Sevens in South Africa last weekend.
"This is the first of three difficult away games for us" said NEC
Harlequins Chief Executive Mark Evans.
"I have a lot of respect for the way that Sale play and for the quality
of players that they have. We know that we will face at very difficult
task at Edgeley Road on Friday evening, they have a strong pack who
carry the ball well, as well as some very skillful, fast running backs. We
have a couple of injuries to Paul Burke, Ugo Monye and Mike Worsley but
we would hope that all of these players will be back in action very
soon. We want to continue to challenge in the top half of the table so
these next three games starting with Sale on Friday evening are very
important to us."
