Neath-Swansea Ospreys have announced the signing of former Wales and Llanelli Scarlets centre Leigh Davies.
Davies, who has won 21 caps, returned this week from a five-month holiday in the southern hemisphere after taking time out of professional rugby.
And Celtic League champions the Ospreys have now swooped for Davies on a two-year contract, despite reported interest from Llanelli.
``It is important we have strength in depth if we are to build on the success of this season,'' said Ospreys manager Derwyn Jones.
``Leigh has had some time away from the game, and he has returned mentally and physically refreshed. While he has been away, he has been monitored and working to a conditioning programme we agreed with him before he left.
``We look forward to him joining us for pre-season training, as Leigh is in better shape than he has been for many years. He will bring quality and experience to our young squad.''
