Almost 13,000 people have applied to become members of the Emirates Western Force, less than a week after memberships were officially launched.
The strong response gives the Perth-based team the biggest Super 14 membership base in Australia, with its first season still six months away.
The take-up of corporate hospitality packages has also exceeded expectations, with more than 130 companies already having submitted applications.
RugbyWA chief executive Peter O'Meara said he was delighted with the response, describing it as further proof the ARU got it right when it selected Perth as home to the new Super 14 team.
"In its bid document, RugbyWA budgeted for a membership of 4,400 people. This eclipses that number and shows just how strong a following there is in WA," he said.
Mr O'Meara said the latest figures showed there were limited Gold Memberships left, and Silver Memberships were also selling well.
"We had more than 13,500 people on our online membership 'expression of interest' register. It's fantastic that almost as many people have now formally applied for memberships so quickly."
Mr O'Meara also said he wanted to clear-up any misconception that the money derived from the membership drive was going into private coffers.
"RugbyWA is a not-for-profit organisation, not a privately-owned business. Any money leftover, after our operational costs, is invested back into the community and the game's development in WA," he said.
