EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has never missed a game, as his brother Peyton Manning will Sunday because of a partially torn plantar fascia. But Eli has had a plantar fascia tear and knows how uncomfortable it is. He suffered the injury in Week 4 of the 2009 season and played through it, and the topic came up when he spoke with Peyton last week.

"Mine was a full tear," Eli said Monday. "I don't know what a partial tear feels like. I talked to him a little bit about it. Hopefully he'll figure out a way to feel as good as he can and get a plan for getting back to playing the way he knows how to play."

Eli said he caught a bit of a break in 2009 because the first game after he got hurt was a blowout against the Raiders in which he got to sit the entire second half. But the injury continued to bother and limit him in the weeks that followed.

"It was a few weeks, probably 3-4 weeks, before the pain was away and I was able to perform a normal way and the way I'm accustomed to," Eli said.

He said he hadn't spoken to his brother since Peyton's four-interception mess Sunday and that he hadn't seen any of the game, since his was going on at the same time. But Eli doesn't worry too much about his brother.

"He'll be fine," Eli said. "He'll bounce back and hopefully get healthy. And hey, they're in a good spot. They're 7-2. I'd take 7-2 with one four-interception game at this point."
