Canelo Alvarez reclaimed the WBC super middleweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Christian Mbilli in the main event of a Mexico vs. The World fight card Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Canelo (64-3-2, 39 KOs), a four-division world champion, was looking to win one of the titles he lost to Terence Crawford in September 2025. He did just that with scorecards of 115-112, 116-111 and 117-110.
Mbilli (29-1-1, 24 KOs) captured the WBC interim title with a first-round TKO victory over Maciej Sulecki in June 2025. He made his first defense three months later in a split draw against Lester Martinez. The WBC had elevated Mbilli to full champion in January after stripping Crawford of the title.
Also on the card, Jaime Munguia defended his WBA super middleweight title against Nikita Zon, and Rafael Espinoza retained his WBO featherweight title against late replacement Ricardo Blandon.
